The New Jersey Nets Really Not Bad
The summer of 2010 has long been on the list for future big free agent signings.Players like Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh will all be open to talks from a variety of teams.Something they also have are some interesting pieces to build a team around. Devin Harris, who has been injured for a lot of the early games this season, is one of the top young point guards.Despite that, the New Jerseys Nets really isn’t that bad.Losing is never a good thing.There is no doubt the Nets will look to sign quite a few players this offseason, it’s just a matter of who they can land.In the New Jersey Nets’ case, they haven’t done much winning.Sure, this season is probably already over as far as any playoff talk, but they have a lot of salary cap room to work with.Although they started the year 0-15, they still are a team with a pretty decent future.So let’s say they sign one of those players, or at least another top flight free agent.Courtney Lee is another interesting piece that was an integral part of the Magic’s NBA Finals run a season ago.Unfortunately, it is also no doubt they will finish in the lottery again this year, which sets them up for some nice draft picks. The ultimate goal in any sport is to win.In fact, after fifteen games in the 2009-2010 season, they haven’t won.
Then, they will most likely have the best chance of grabbing a number one draft pick in 2010 with a poor record.If John Wall comes out of college, he is just one of a few potential stars in the current crop of college stars.Brook Lopez is a future star inside, and he has the size and work ethic to improve even more. Anyhow, The Nets are a very young team. The key to all this is it has to happen.
